Get organized with an essential oil binder!

When I first learned about essential oil, I definitely dived into the science and went through a lot of books and reading. I wanted to make sure to learn as much as I could from trusted sources and have a personal reference so that I could safely and effectively use my essential oils.

That’s why I think it’s super important to make yourself an essential oil binder of information, so you can keep relevant handouts and notes. Not only are you taking notes for your own use, but perhaps as a reference or guide for the entire family.

There’s so much information out there, it’s impossible to simply memorize it all. So it makes sense to make your own reference. I created this design as a cover page, so color up the black and white version or just use the full-color printable. I’ve designed it so you can use this on the front of the binder or as the first page to include some contact information.

Why Keep An Inventory of Your Essential Oils?

At first it seemed pretty straightforward to keep track of the few bottles of essential oils I had in my collection. I only had a handful of bottles all together in one box on my dresser. But it didn’t take long before I added to my collection and purchased multiple bottles of certain oils to keep in different parts of the house.

As I learned more and used more essential oils throughout my home and lifestyle, I definitely felt the need to get more organized and keep better track of my essential oils. That’s why I decided to create this free printable essential oil inventory list. It’s a straightforward way to write down each and every bottle of essential oil I purchase and actually keep track of dates.

It’s actually extremely useful information in the long run to know how long a bottle has been opened and how much time you usually take to finish a certain bottle. I also like to note the expiry dates as soon as I purchase a new oil, just to keep it top of mind.

I certainly don’t have the best memory, but even if you did I think it’s much more useful to keep all this information written down, than having to memorize it. Not only will you free yourself from having to remember these details about your essential oils and usage, but you are creating a reference so that the rest of the family can refer to it as well.

I often note the specific lot or bottle number along with the name if I have multiple bottles of the same oil around the house. Or you can label it something like Lemon in the kitchen versus lemon in the bathroom if you keep multiple bottles in different parts of your house.

Trust me when I say that this information will be extremely helpful and helps you to keep on top of your inventory and not waste a single drop!

For the Love of Essential Oils…

Since discovering essential oils, I’ve been in love and awe of these seemingly magical substances. Here’s a little background about my journey…

Every single day we are challenged. Physically, emotionally and mentally.

My Life…

I’ve always been one to look for ways to tweak and change my life for the better. And the older I get, the more I realized how important it is to take good care of my body, mind and soul. If not only for selfish reasons, also for the sake of those around me. Especially when I became a mother and had to come to grips with my own imperfections.

Suddenly, I was faced with so many emotions, stresses and challenges – personally, emotionally, with my kids and my family. I wanted to be a better me… for everyone.

There’s so much pressure in life and becoming a parent added a whole new layer of complication for me. Not only was my body taking a physical toll, but my mind was troubled by psychological and emotional rollercoaster rides.

Along with lots of journaling, soul-searching and the discovery of essential oils, I started to incorporate better habits into my lifestyle and tweaking things along the way, bit by bit. I can definitely say my life gets better incrementally, because I keep working at it!

Essential Oils

I learned about essential oils from a friend and slowly incorporated them into my life over the years. I found them helpful in moving towards natural living and using less artificial substances in my home. But I also loved many of the scents and the emotional effects. The more I learned, the more I loved essential oils.

Most people assume oils and emotions are all very woo-woo and not based on science. And it’s true that the scientific research needs to catch up in the essential oil arena, now that they are quite popular around the world. If you are looking for the scientific information about the effectiveness of certain essential oils – there are research publications you can seek out. I’m definitely all about the science and look forward to new studies that will help us learn more about these natural oils that hold so much power.

However, I’m also about results and sometimes you won’t know until you have tried. Like most things in life, a million people can swear xyz works, but it turns out to be blegh for you. Perhaps it’s just not proven yet. But at the same time, I would never advocate doing anything dangerous. So really it comes down to making your best judgement with the information you have and due diligence.

I know there is a lot of controversy around essential oils. There are those who think it’s totally fluff and then there’s the other extreme of worshipping them perhaps too much. These days, essential oils have entered the mass market shops and you might even see trendy brands release their own line. Of course, we all have to do our own research and make our own decisions.

All I can say to you is that I love my essential oils. I believe in science as well and open to learning more. And I will continue to use essential oils to benefit my life.

So Why Essential Oil Printables?

When I started to purchase more and more essential oils, I realized that I needed ways to organize my oils, recipes and notes. I dove deep into the community of essential oils because I wanted to learn as much as I could to educate myself on the topic. There’s a lot of information out there about essential oils and you certainly have to be careful to follow trusted sources.

So I read books on essential oils, read up on research publications and followed other essential oil enthusiasts to share recipes and information. We chatted about how we used our essential oils in daily life and soon enough I was wading in notes and lists, finding everything to be disorganized.

Sometimes we think we will remember something for sure, only to find ourselves scratching our heads a few weeks later. I had to be more meticulous about labelling my essential oil rollerballs, recording recipes and notes on usage, as well as keeping track of my inventory of oils.

That’s why I started my own essential oil binder to try and get organized with all the information I was learning. This led to creating my own set of essential oil printables – from notes pages to recipe pages to inventory lists and more. I started creating them for myself, but soon after my essential oil friends were asking me for a copy!

I learned that others wanted to create their own essential oil binders with my essential oil printables… so why not share it all. I finally found some time to start up this new website and just want to post the printables I have created.

I hope you will find the printables useful for your own essential oil journey… enjoy!
